The Executive Service Corps of the Greater Triangle has been providing professional, affordable consulting services to Triangle nonprofits since 1987, helping them achieve their missions. ESC consultants are experienced executives in business and nonprofit work who volunteer their time to “give back” to the community. They have the passion, knowledge and commitment to help nonprofits become more effective. Programs & Resources for Nonprofit Governing Boards and Board Members:

ESC offers a broad range of programs and services to address the challenges faced by both the Board and the Staff of a nonprofit organization: Self Assessment. This is a confidential survey of your Board members. It measures the Board''s overall effectiveness, how well it operates and how it plans for the future. The results suggest ways to improve your Board''s success. Retreats. These are intensive one-day meetings designed to help your Board members understand Board functions as well as their own roles and responsibilities. Strategic Planning. A consultant team works with your Board and Staff to identify long term issues and develop action plans to address them Board Development. This is a longer-term consulting program to improve Board effectiveness. An ESC consultant attends your Board meetings for up to a year to help assess and prioritize issues and evaluate action steps. Executive Coaching. This service provides a series of confidential, one-on-one meetings between a specially trained ESC Coach and the Executive Director or other nonprofit officer. Financial Reporting Diagnostic Review. A financial expert reviews your budgeting, reporting and financial monitoring practices, and makes recommendations for improvements Customized Services. ESC can develop customized programs for particular needs and challenges that cannot be addressed by our other programs. Examples are Human Resources, Public Relations, Fundraising, Marketing, and Mergers & Consolidations.
